GENERAL ELECTION.
DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED TO-MORROW. THE PRIME MINISTER’S PROMISE. (By Telegraph —Special to The Star.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 9. Replying to the Leader of the Opposition, the Prime Minister promised to announce in the Press the date of the general election to-morrow. “Why not tell ns now, and speed the parting guest ” asked Mr. E. J. Howard. “That’s just the reason why I cannot,” replied the Prime Minister. “I am anxious to keep a quorum until Parliament completes its work.”
