When the House of Representatives resumed at 2.30 p.m. it immediately went Into committee on the Native Washing-Up Bill, the Auckland University -College Reserves Amendment Bill, -the Local -Legislation [Bill, the Copyright (temporary) Amendment Bill and the Reserves and the Lands Disposal Bill, and all the Bills except the Local Legislation Bill were slightly amonded. They were read a third time and pasased. 'The Prime Minister asked the House to consider the Engineer’s Registration Amendment Bill originally introduced by Mr W. 'H. Field (Otaki), but not proceeded with on account of the opposition shown. Engineers -had waited on him that morning and assured him that all the matters in dispute between them and the surveyors had been arranged and -the •way was now clear to pass the Bill. The House agreed to this course and the Bill was put through its committee stage, read a third time and passed. At 4.17 p.m. the House rose till 3 p.m. on Monday, -when the business will be local Bills ond the iSupplementary Estimates. On Tuesday there will be a Finance and Appropriation Bills. Mr Coates did not anticipate there would bo a debate on the 'cable-wireless agreement unless it could be squeezed in on Monday. It was unfortunate, -but there it was, he said' LEGTSLA TIVE 'COUNCIL. SUMMER TIME-BILL PASSED. WELLINGTON, Oct. 0. When the Legislative 'Council resumed at 2.30 p.m. the Government Railways Amendment Bill, the E-leetrie Power Boards Amendment, 'Bill, the Summer-time Bill,, and the -Auckland Transport Board Bill wore put through the final stages and passed Without amendment. The Council adjourned at 3.50 until 11 a.m. on Monday.
