FIRE AT LEVIN.
SER rOUS OUTBREAK. fßv Telegraph—Press Association, i LEVIN. Oct. 8. A serious fire occurred late on Sat- ; iirda.y night in 'the premises occupied by Tnee and Co., drapers, G. D. Hamilton, accountant, V. Henderson, tailor, and Miss Williams, dresmaker. The three latter occupied the first floor of the building. The fire had a strong hold when the alarm was given and, though it was confined to. the block, where it originated, the stocks and buildings were a total loss. The insurances on Tnce’s was £SOOO and the fittings £SOO. Furniture was insured for £IOO. The building belonged to the Stiles and Matheson Estate, and was insured for £3OOO. The other tenants were not insured; The cause of the outbreak is unknown.
