SPRING BLOOMS.

w SHOW AT ELTHAM. SPLENDID DISPLAY OF FLOWERS The Eltham Horticultural Society’s annual spring flower and bulb show was held in the town hall yesterday. Notwithstanding the extremely cold and boisterous weather experienced during the past fortnight, growers' throughout the province, from Hawera to Waitara and Opunalce to Pukengahu, succeeded in well filling the slitow benches with a profusion of beautiful blooms, the quality of which was, on the whole, of quite as high standard as that attained under more favourable previous occasions. As usual, an excellent display was made in the home industries section. The principal officers of the society, Mr. A. H. Best (president) and Rev. W W. Avery (secretary), were deserving of special mention for the completeness of detail which marked the working of each department. In the unavoidable absence of the president the show was officially ‘'opened, m the presence of a fair attendance of the public, by the Rev. C. W. Whitacre. LIST OF AWARDS.
