MOTOR LORRY BURNT.

BLAZE NEAR, TE KIRI. (From Our Opunake Correspondent.) A five-ton motor lorry, owned, by A. E. MjcDdnakl, <jf Opunake, was completely destroyed iby fire on the o'pmrake-Str.atford Bload,.near Te Kiri, about seven o’clock last evening. The lorry was engaged in carting fivewood. Tlxo cause of tli-e fire w«ais not defi ni tely known, /but tlie outbreak was believed. to ha.ve originated through the engine back-firing through’ the carburettor.

Our Te Kiri correspondent, in reporting] tlie accident, mentioned that the driver of the lorry ofuekily went back and turned off the benzine tap to prevent an. explosion. The load of firewood was totally destroyed.
