REALISE £1 3s AT AUCTION. A great deal of interest Was manifested in tiie sale at auction this afternoon of a large parcel, 2651, of shares, £1 fully paid up in the Hawcra County Electric Co., Ltd. ■Messrs Newton King, Ltd., were the auctioneers and bidders had the option of taking up blocks of not less than one hundred shares. Bidding started at less than face value and advanced spiritedly to £1 3s, at which price the whole parcel was taken by Mr D. Barry, of New Plymouth.

In view of the position as between the company and the Power Board, interest in the sale was not confined to bidders, others being curious to* see by the result what views speculators had as to the probable outcome of the pending arbitration proceedings. It is freely reported that Wellington investors Were interested and were in the market to* acquire at £1 2s per share.
