AGRICULTURAL CLASSES.
HAWERA HIGH SCHOOL. VISIT TO A MILKING. FARM. Part of the training carried out at the Hawera High School in its agri cultural section has been a, series o: visits to farms in the district, in order to seo the work that is done ').♦ practical and successful farmers. A number of settlers have shown interest in this phase of the work, and have heartily co-operated with the staff in this direction. The last visit paid was by a class <>- fcwel-ve students to Mr. H. C. Wills's rarm on the Ivetemarae Road, in order to get a practical lesson in the most comenient arrangement of a milking shed on a dairy farm. Mr. H. WThiteheacl, agricultural instructor, was m j charge of the party, which spent, a useful time inspecting the many lalxmr saving devices adopted by Mr. Wills‘in his shed, and he was kept busy giving explanations. The result of the visit should be a valuable addition to the students’ knowledge of farm operations, especially to- those boys who are taking up fanning as their life’s work. Before leaving, Mr. Whitehead expressed on behalf of the boys their thanks to Mr. Wills for allowing them to pay the visit of inspection, and for his clear and interesting remarks on the shed and its operations.
