AMBITIOUS SCHEME
ALTERATIONS AT DONCASTER WORLD’S WONDER RACECOURSE. TO COST £250,000. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) —United Service). Received 10.15 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Sept. 12. An ambitious plan was revealed today to make Doncaster the scene of this afternoon’s St. Leger, the world’s wonder racecourse. 'The scheme to cost £250,000 has the support of Lord Lascell es, Lord Lonsdale and other notable men. It involves the utter changing of the town and moor, the erection of the world’s largest grandstand, with a totalisator in the middle, the banishment of the bookmakers special offices at the back of the totalisator offices, and various parts of the 'course and aeroplane lauding field.
