MAY VISIT SYDNEY.

TARANAKI RUGBY TEAMS. PROPOSAL FOR -1930. The possibility of the New Plymouth High School Rugby fifteen and a Taranaki representative team visiting Sydney in 1930 during the carnival to be held there when the Sydney bridge; is opened was mentioned at tlie meeting of the Taranaki Rugby Union last evening. > The chairman (Mr. J. McLeod) intimated that from private information received it appeared that the Rugby authorities in Sydney were very favourably disposed towards the reception of the school team, which, it was considered, would compare favourably with the best of the secondary school teams on the other side.

A proposal was afoot to arrange for a special steamer to travel direct from New Plymouth to Sydney to take visitors to the carnival at concession rates. It appeared practically certain that such would l>o arranged. The occasion would offer a favourable opportunity to send the school team and also a Taranaki team.
