Af.s.-i Alarga.ret Blondfield in supporting the proposaf for the expulsion of the National Union of Seamen, pointed out that 'seamen admitted encouraging and assisting in tlie formation and development of the miners’ nonpoliticaf union, which the Trades Union Council _ regarded a® a. breakaway from the union. Air Jack Jones, iii attempting to oppose the proposal, was shouted down. Air Turner said that a troublous debate was unnecessary and added that the delegates were "virtually deciding that some action was necessary. Tlie seamen had already withdrawn from the membership. Tlie congress carried the proposal with one dissentient. Air dynes declared that the Government wa.s never more untrustworthy, mltrrihhfu.l and callous than regarding unemployment. Mr Baldwin's pitiful appeal to the employers was contemptible.
