HAWERA AIEN’S CLUB
CHAMPIONSHIPS ADVANCED. The championships of the Hawera Golf Club, have been advanced in both seniors and juniors, and several interesting matches have been played. In the second round the results were, seniors.—Corfe beat Hay-MaeKenzie; Sutton beat W. S. Gibson; Whitehead beat Ryan. , _ Junior. —Dalgetty beat _G. r. Strange; Hunt beat T. McKenzie. In. the third round of the seniors, a ding dong matcli took place between O’Callaghan and Sutton, the former winning, one up. At the sixteenth he was one up. The last two holes were squared, and at the eighteenth Sutton just failed to win, and so to carry the matcli to the nineteenth. Both were playing excellent golf, and the match provided an excellent display. Little beat Whit eh ad.. Corf©. has to play the winner of the J. Quin v. Cox match, and the winner in that maitch will meet tt-he winner of the O’Callaghan v. Little contest. In the, Juniors Sagar beat Lawn; Meyrick heat S-agar. and in. the fourth round Dalgetty heat Meyrick. There are still several third round fixtures to he played.
