SHANNON HOUSE RAZED (By Telegraph—lress Association.) LEVIN, Aug. 27. Fire destroyed the five-roomed residence of Mr W. Hannam at Shannon early on Sunday morning. The occupants, had, a vary narrow escape. A son, Cecil Hannam, who was awakened by ,smoke, was driven back when he opened ha® bed-room door by an inrush of flames, and got out through a window in his night attire. In endeavouring to arouse his parents in the front of tin? house he severely gashed his hand in breaking the wiindKW. Air and Mrs Hannam also had: to escape by the, window. The insurance is not available. Nothing was saved. The fire was prevented from spreading to the adjoining houses with difficulty.
