New Plymouth Boys’ High School ■put up a (big score against the Auckland Grammar School in the match held at New Plymouth on Saturday, <runn iug out' wamirails by 49 points to mu The •teams' were as follow: — Auckland Grammar (Blue)— Milne ('full-hack), McFarland, Stuart, Pollard, McK'eatrmey, Frankham, Newton, Keane, Cooke, Slyiield, Clcghorn, Saiuft, Robinson', Mulligan (bakers), Mason (rover). High School (Black) —Hayward (full back), Anderson, Watson, Efcdaul, Fookes, Gibbons, Brown, Andrews, McDonald, Wynyard, Shaw, McNeil, Thomas', Dickie (hookers), McCollum Playing with the sun to their advantage, School pressed from; the start, •and their second back passing movement was successful, Fookes taking a reverse pass from Ekdahl and going over for Anderson to convert .with a perfect kick. School 5, Grammar 0. The visitors, passing well, invded tmd were twice repelled. Milne again; put them on the attack with a heady grubber kick, and School countered, workiinio- down to the 25, where Gibbons unsuccessfully had a. shot at goal. At the end of a fine passing chain’, Ekdahl dropped the ball in the visitors’’ 25. Receiving from a serum at midfield, Brown, Gibbons', Fookes, Watson Ekdahl and Fookes handled, the latter scoring under the bar. Anderson converted. Before the third quarter ended Watson (2), Fookes and Ekdahl added tries, Anderson converting each, making the School’s score 35. Watson opened the final quarter with a good corner try, Anderson’s attempt failing for the first time in eight shots. With 38 points debit, Grammar strongly attacked, having hard luck in failing to get home. Spectacular football saw Gibbons, Thomas and Watson add a try each, Anderson converting the last one, making the; score— High School ■ 49 Grammar 0 Pollard and McKeamey retired hurt during the game and were, replaced by Gillies and Emanuel.
