ENGLAND DEFEATS DULLER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WESTPORT, Aug. 14. In. beautiful weather and before a large' crowd the English League lootball team defeated Duller by <2 to 3. Duller was completely outclassed both in the backs and lorwards. Che game consisted mainly of beautiful in and out passing runs and neat sidestepping by the Englishmen. who were l too elusive for the local plgyeus. Some of the passing runs were begun near England’s line, the hall quickly travelling from player to player with pace on all the time. A feature oF the game was the fine place kicking of Gowers, England’s full-back, who from tries kuked 10 successive goals and added another later on. Out of 14 attempts' lie. missed on only throe occasions. - Tries were is cored by A skin («*)» Rosser 12), Gwymi (2), Frodsbam (4), Evans, Halfpenny 13) and Slowman. One try was. converted, by Williams. Duller’s only try was gained by Longstaff, Of the Duller players, Goodnll, Jack Longstaff and Bernard were the pick. Prior to the commencement of the game, the visitors were, given a civic welcome by the Mayor (Mr. J. H. Harknes.s). .To-night they are the guests of the. Butler Rugby Union to the ball being held as a welcome to the Southland Rugby touring team.
