(Australian Press Association.) 1 HONOLULU, Aug. 13. « Discussions at- the conference brought out the belief that Australia 1 and New Zealand reflect greater industrial benefits for women than other Pacific countries, especially in working hours. Replying to Japanese, queries about suffrage, Misses Den,ton and Leech, Dunedin, described the English sufrage campaign. Sir Joseph Carruthcrs, speaking at ■the Pan-Pacific Union’s luncheon today, said the Polynesian race would probably become extinct unless the death rate was 1 reduced and the birth rate increased. "Thank God, there are pants like New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji,” he added, "where there is definite hope that the native races will be salvaged. ’ ’
