NEW ZEALAND TROTTING BOARD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ’ CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 15, At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association, the, result of the election for members to the board was announced as: North Island, Mr. R. A. Armstrong; South Island, Messrs J. H. Williams, W. H. Denton, and J. M. Samson, all being re-elected. PEDIGREE PIGS FROM ENGLAND. PALMERSTON N., Aug. 15. A meeting of the council of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association considered a letter from the Pig Breeders Association of England, relative to the ban on the export of purebred stock. The letter pointed out that the establishment of a quarantine station in London provided precautions against the introduction of foot and mouth disease, hut so far only South Africa and Rhodesia had agreed to accept stock via the quarantine station. It was decided to write to the Department of Agriculture asking, in view of the establishment of such a station, if it would not he possible for breeders in. the Dominion to import pigs from Britain.
