HOSPITAL AFFAIRS.
PATEA BOARD AIEETS. The monthly meeting of the Patea Hospital Board was held yesterday, when there wore present: .Messrs Honey field (chairman), Wiatison, Belton, Seown, Back, Johnston, and WatThe treasurer of the Dr. Harvey .Memorial Fund forwarded the sum o± £39 lbs 6d towards the cost of the -X.Bav apparatus. A motion of thanks was carried. The medical superintendent reported that on July 31 theie were 23 patients in the institution during the month, 20 were admitted, to discharged, one died, and there remained an hospital 27 at the end of the month. t , T n , The matron reported that Nuise Calvert, had been off duty sin'ce July 4, and she would need another nVon'th before being fit for duty. Nurse Crompton has been off duty since July 17. Miss Oaten by started as probationer on July 9 and Miss Trwin on August ’it. was resolved that the increase in fees date from August 1, 1028, and that two weeks’ fees in maternity (cases he paid in advance. Messrs (Seown and .Tollbaton were appointed visiting committee for August. In reply to the 'Taranaki Bugfby Union it Was resolved that the cash -discount of Is per day be allowed off accounts guaranteed by the Union and paid by SeplteinboT 30.
