English cricketers will be sailing for Australia on September' 15 aboard the Otranto, the damage to which in the collision is insufficient to postpone lier sailing. Hobbs, Tate, Larwood and Hammond, all engaged in newspaper activities, were called before the AI.C.C. committee before their selection and cautioned that any reference to the probable composition of England’s ele\on would be an infringement and would prejudice their own chances. Each was warned to discontinue references there-to though they were permitted to continue general cricket articles on the speciffc understanding tliat they refrained from the mention of tests. ENGLAND v. WEST INDIES. Received 1.25 p.m. to-day.) LONDON, Aug. 13. England, in the first innings, made 438 (Hobbs 159, Earnest Ty Ides,ley 73, Tate 54). Griffiths took six wickets foil- 103 runs, and Francis four for 112. West Indie*s, in their second innings, have made 61 for the loss of four wickets.
