AUCKLANDER, WINS AT CANTERBURY PARK. AUCKLAND, Aug. 13. Mr. F. Earl. K.C., has received cabled advice that, his three-year-old gelding Perception was successful at the Canterbury Park (Sydney) meeting on Saturday. Tlie. race won by Perception would be the three-year-old handicap, as his name figured in the list of nominations for that event. It is understood that Eden Hall, who was recently sold to an Australian buyer, was also a winner at tlie Canterbury Park meeting.
DEATH OF STALLION ABSURD. WANGANUI, Aug. 13. The Sundridge stallion Absurd died at Mr. G. M. Currie’s Koatanui stud on Friday. During the ten years Absurd lias been at the stud he has had a wonderful career, having sired winners of about £250,000 in stakes.
