FARMERS’ UNION .SO-CI-AL,

The annual social and prizc-gi vim in connection with the local branch of the Farmers’' ’Union will be held tomorrow evening. "The first part of the programme will be a short concert, for which some first-class performers have promised their assistance; then ,tlie prizes given in the men’s root growing -competitions land the children 'S root-growing and calf-rearing competition's will !be presented, also the Sutton Oup and gold medal to Mr H. Bettis, senr. When this is got through supper will be provided and a dance held. As announced in the advertising columns all ladies willing to assist with tiie supper are asked to be at the hall at 10 o’clock on Wednesday morn--ing and those who cannot (lo so are requested to forward donations of food.
