SUMMER- TIME BY LOCAL OPTION
(By Telegraph-Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 14. At a meeting of representatives of the manufacturing commercial interests and sports -bodies, it was resolved to organise a deputation to local bodies and to ask the Auckland members of Parliament to support Air T. K. Sidey’s Bill providing for summer time by local option.
RAILWAY SETTLEMENT AT NG'AIO
WELLINGTON, Aug. 14. Since the -beginning of Hie year tlie Railway Departmenit has erected a block of 72 five-roomed, houses in tlie suburb of Niga-io. With the exception of two all were factory-cut at the Framkton factory. The rent charged to railway employees i.s equal t-o one -day’s pay per week.
