MANAIA.
A very happy function took p-laoe recently at Auckland, when LYLr and Mis J. J. Cosgrove, of Glenn Road, Stanley Bay, entertained a- bulge number of friends and -relatives at the eeebrntion of their isjlver jubilee. Besides receiving many felicitous messages and expressions of goodwill, Mr and Air® Cosgrove- wene presented with a large number of suitable gifts as tangible proof of the esteem in which they were held by their friends. Wedding bells hung over the supper board, and a- magnificent decorated cake -provided the- completing link in a- chain of reminiscences extending over a quarter of -a- century. The Rt2v. Father Furlong and the Rev. Father Sclnmoff paid graceful tribute to the popularity of Air -and Airs Cosgrove, particularly .as workers on behalf of the Catholic Church on the Shore. Air Cosgrove responded in happy vein to- the toast. Among the guests wore Airs Fitzgerald of Devonport, her daughter, Miss Fitzgerald and her son, Mr D. Fitzgerald, all of whom were at the wedding; of Ai r and AIrS Cosgrove, at Waipawa on June 3, 1903. Felicitations were received from Airs J- H. Cronin, of Pa-tea, who was bridesmaid at the wedding.
