THF/FT CHARGES AGAINST BUCKLEY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Aug. 10. John Leslie Buckley, who escaped from Mount Eden Gaol recently, appeared before Justices on charges of breaking and entering the Tauniarunui Sash and Door Factory, and stealing £5 in cash and three cheques, breaking and entering the Tauniarunui Hardware Co.’s premises and stealing money and cheques to the total value of £ls 18s 9d, and with breaking and entering tlie shop of the Fanners’ Co-opera-tive Auctioneering Co., and stealing money and goods to the value of £4 16s 9d
Accused pleaded not guilty, and asked that the charges be taken separately. On the charge of theft from the Taumarunui Hardware Co., accused was remanded to the Supreme Court at Ham■lt on for trial.
The hearing of the other charges is proceeding.
ANOTHER. CHARGE AGAINST BUCKLEY.
TAUMARUNUI, Aug. 11
A further charge was heard at the Police Court last night against John Leslie Buckley, of breaking and entering, and of theft from a shop at, Manunui on June 23 of money and goods to total value of £26 las. •Sergeant O’Brien stated that the accused that evening admitted this 'offence to him, stating that he wanted to get it off his mind. Buckley pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence.
