• TARANAET’S TEAM. D. JOHNSTON NOT AVAILABLE. Owing' to illness in his family, Taranaki’s star back, D. Johnston, is not available for the provincial Rugby team’s game with Hawke’is Bay at New Plymouth to-morrow. ‘His place is to be taken by the Opunake middleback, 'O. Holraia, who, though a useful five-eighth, is not in Johnston’s class, and the latter’s defection will weaken the home combination against what is regarded as a strong side from the Bay. At half-back, Court, who was unable yesterday to accept 'the game offered is to be given a further chance to-morrow and O. Murphy re'sumes his position in the front row. Otherwise the team is the same as that, which defeated Marlborough yesterday, though better combination in the forward division will be necessary if the side is to register another ‘The team is to assemble at the Royal Hotel, New Plymouth. The Bay team includes a number of promising younger players with ’a few well-seasoned exponents, among whom F. Yates and S. Gemniell are well known to Taranaki followers of the game. The teams have been announced as follows:

Guy, who will select the North Island team after the game. The third grade final between 'Tukapa and Stratford Te'chnical High School will provide a curtain raiser, commencing at 1.15 p.m.
