(From Our Own Correspondent.) FARMERS’ UNION SOCIAL. LADIES’ WORK APPRECIATED. A very successful complimentary social to the ladies of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Auroa. Hall on Saturday evening when there was a large number present from all round the district. Woods’ orchestra supplied excellent music, while were played by Mesdames West, Erase and Benton. Mr. Bighaini capably carried out the duties-o-f M.C. A good supper Was provided and served by the gentlemen. Mr Area explained that the social was given as a small mark of appreciation t O . the ladies of the district who had worked so hard, to make the recent farmers’ ball .such a success. As tbe result of the efforts of the lady workers the Auroa farmers’ social gatherings are noted all over Taranaki for their lavish catering and general enjoyment. said Mr Area. There -is now a. large membership of the -.loc-al Ladies-’ Division of the Farmers’ Union, and they intend holding a meeting on Wednesday, August i. PERSONAL. The many friends of Mrs Malone, senior, ol Riverlea, will he pleased to know that she- has sufficiently improved in health to be enjoying a stay with he r neioe here, Mrs Deegan.
