MESSAGE! FROM COMMAN D-ER OF ARGENTINE SHIP.
(By Telegraph—Press. Association.) AA’ELLINGTON, July 30. The following messages passed last evening between the. commander of the Agentine training ship Presidente Sarmiento and the Governor-General:
“'Leaving the shores of New Zealand, where we were honoured in receiving not only a cordial welcome but the most kindly hospitality and friendship, 1 can .assure your Excellency that, myself and every, man on board the Sarmiento will always keep- happy remembrances of New Zealand and in particular of vour Excellencies because you not only paid a tribute of respect and friendship- to our country, but strengthened with your kindness the ties of sympathy between New Zealand and the Argentine Republic. G-eron.imo Costa Palma, Commander of the Plresid-ente Sarmiento, Argentine Navy. ” His Excellency replied as follows: “I thank you sincerely for your bind message. Nothing could give the people of New Zealand more pleasure than your assurance that you have enjoyed your visit toi these shores. We have •welcomed the opportunity of trying to express our feelings’ of respect and friendship for the Argentine Republic. We wish you all a pleasant voyage in your beautiful ship and a happy return to your homes.. Ch ar les Fer gus son. Governor-General. ’ ’
