Tex Rickard has announced that the actual loss on the fight was £30,000. Jack 'McAuliffe believes that Heeney might have recovered and the referee had no right to stop the fight when the eleventh round had only eight seconds to go. The challenger was game, but made many mistakes, the chief of which was that he tried for Tunney’s head all the time, instead of going for his body. Tunney declined to say anything to-day aboatt a return match. “Heeney put up a wonderful fight. He was a worthy challenger,’’ said Gene. Heeney said: “Tunney beat me fair enough, but I was handicapped after that eyelash turned inwards into my left eye. I -simply could not see after the sixth round.” Charlie Harvey is loud in his protests against the referee stopping the fight and grumbled at Heeney because he failed to crouch in the eleventh round.
