REFORMATIVE DETENT lON IMPOSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, July 27. Having pleaded guilty to misappropriating £BOS belonging to The Rotorua Co-operative Building Society, Leslie Vickers was to-day .sentenced by *Mr Justice Blair to. .reformative detention not exceeding IS months. After hearing counsel’s plea for probation the judge said it would be unwise to take this course in so serious an . offence. * YOUNG WOMAN CHARGED WITH THEFT. WELLINGTON, July 27. Nurse Ruth Grace Moat, aged 27, stated to be an English immigrant and a resident of New Zealand for about six months, pleaded guilty .to-day to the theft of £lO front Mary _ Kate Brown. She was remanded pending inquiries being made here and at Christchurch in regard to other alleged thefts from the Girls’ Friendly Society and. tlie place where she had been employed.
