This championships at Colombes prlvided an intereistin,oj review of French athletics, in view of the coining Olympic Games. ~ La Doumiegue’s victory in the 1500 metres in 3min 52 1-osee beat Nurmi's world ripcord by 2-ssiec and Feger’s 400 metres hi'4B 4-ssec beat- the French record which has Stood for 19 years. The* 5000 and 1 100 metre®, however, were not brilliant, causing the critics to suggest that France should limit her efforts to events in which there arc good, chances. The women’s nre-Olympie meeting resulted in isix records being ,beaten or equalled. Mile. Radideau equalled the world's record for the. 100 metres in 12 2-ssec. and Mile. Reveu the 800 metres in 2min 26 2-ssec.
