.SALES TO PRIVATE OWNERS. (Australian Press Association—United Service.) WASHINGTON, July 2. The sale -of the United 'States lines of American merchant ships has boon approved by the ship sales ..committee of the United States .Shipping Board. .The plan of sale, which has not. been disclosed, will be submitted to the board and is expected to be approved, although in some quarters it is believed the ’board will not sell the ships, as it is merely “feeling out” the .market. The sale would practically remove the Government from the shipping business.
