Pointing out that the general strike had codt the Rhilwaymoji’s .Union £75,('OO and members £2,250,000, Mr J. H. Thomas (Labour) warned the members that the railways position is more serious than is generally known. The -companies had a-pproachecl the union asking it to face the situation, discuss the whole question, and he prepared to make sacrifices.
