CHURCH SERVICES.

VALUE OF BROADCASTING

TAKING THE GOSPEL TO THE PEOPLE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) tt OHRIiSTOHURiOH, June 25

“What, is- the Church for? It is not to broadcast the gospel of Christ. If people are too -lazy to come to church, surely we woulld be doing the right thing in taking the church to the people.” Thus spoke Archbishop Julius at the Cathedral yesterday when extolling virtues of the wireless broadcasting of services. Archbishop Ju'lius also prophesised that only a short time would pas« before the services from most churches ■were put on the air. Broadcasting of religious services is an innovation, said the Archbishop, “and the church' with its conservative outlook always shrinks from new ideas, and yet why should we not broadcast? At Resent wireless is still in its infancy, but to-morrow- it will be doing great things in the education of the world. ’ ’
