ELECTRIC SUPPLY.

RAPID PP.OGRESS IN DOMINION. SATURATION POINT 1 ALONG WAY OFF,. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 19. About one hundred delegates attended the opening of the Electric Supply Authority Engineers’ Association’s ani'tp.l conference, Mr H. T. Too good presiding. After the reports and accounts had been adopted, committees were appointed t-o deal with various remits. Tire chairman reviewed the position of electric supply in New Zealand and dealt, briefly with the work before tbe conference, which he anticipated would be finished within three days. In the course of bis address, Mr Toogood said that the use of electricity was progressing rapidly, but the saturation point was still a long way off He was convinced that the future developments lay as much in the direction of increased domesto use of power ais it did in the industrial field. He strongly commented on the failure of the Public Works Department to consult the association on tbe establishment of an approval board to pass electric equipment. Tliis had not yet eventuated, and tbe association would bo justified in showing some impatience, owing 1o delay in dealing with the matter.
