VERDICT OF SUICIDE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, June 13. At the inquest concerning the death of John Chandler Hill, aged 50, who was found with his throat cut at his home- at Ngaruawahia, the coroner, Mr. Platts, S.M., returned a verdict of suicide. He found that deceased suffered from mental distress as the result of injuries received when he fell from the viaduct of W’aipa collieries in November last. WORKER SERIOUSLY BURNED. W 7 AIROA, June 13. A serious accident occurred yesterday afternoon at Tuai, when an employee of the .Dunedin Engineering Company named Mick. Maloney, while engaged in painting the inside of a big pipeline, sipped- and l knocked over a. benzine lamp, which set fire fo the paint inside. Maloney wins very badly burned before he was able to get out of the pipeline and now lies in a grave condition in the countv hospital. Theor* is very little hope for lids recovery.
