STRATFORD TUG=O’=WAR.

RAWHHITIROA BEST OF 10 TEAMS. ■STRATFORD A RUNNERS-UP. Fully 500 spectators assembled last night .to witness the tug-o’-War tournament organised by the Stratford Tugo ’-War and Amusement Club, and held in Messrs. Klecman and Bishop’s commodious garage on. Broad Way.

With the exception that no seating accommodation was provided, the arrangements were quite up-ito-date, and all present had a good view of each bout. The principal officials. Messrs. T. Kirkwood (referee), P. Skogluml (starter) and J. Petrie (timekeeper), were supported by a band of willing assistants and everything went with a swing. Results in the first round were:—

First Round.—-Inglewood defeated Inglewood Carriers; Knimiro defeated Stratford B; Union Foundries (Stratford) defeated Manana B; Rawhitiroa defeated Stratford A; Arawhat'a defeated Palmer Road. Second Round.—Rawhitiroa defeated Inglewood; Arawhata defeated Kainiiro; Palmer Road defeated Inglewood Carriers; Stratford A defeated Mhn'aia B. "

Third Round.—Rawhitiroa defeated Union Foundry; Palmer Road deadheated with Stratford B; Kainiiro defeated Arawhata,; Stratford A defeated Inglewood; Stratford A defeated Inglewood; Stratford B defeated Palm, er Road.

Fourth Roaund.—Aravhiata defeated Union Foundry; Rawhitiroa defeated Knimiro; ’Stratford A defeated Stratford B. •Semi-Finals.—Stratford A defeated Arawhata. for second place; Kaimin defeated Union Foundry and Stratford B for fourth place.

Final. —R'awhitiroa (two lives) defeated Stratford A (one life), having continuous advantage varying from one to four inches.

The final placing was: — Rnwhitiroa .1, Stratford A 2, Ara wliat a. 3, KTnimiro 4.
