FREE ADVICE CASE
CHRISTCHURCH, June 4
The New Zealand Trotting Board considered on Saturday night what is known as the Free Advice case. After tlie Eclipse' Handicap at the Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting James Bryce was lined £25 for alleged wilful interference. Bryce appealed to the New Zealand Trotting Association, which referred the matter back to the club foi- further consideration. The club decided at a meeting on May 9 to adhere to the decision of the judicial committee in fining Bryce on the grounds that the fresh evidence brought forward was of no value. The Trotting Board has now decided to refer the finding back to the club to inquire upon what portion of the evidence it found that interference was wilful.
