WANGANUI STOCK SALE.

At Wanganui yesterday there was a, good yarding of sheep with a moderate yarding of pigs and cattle. The cattle section, except for a few old fat cows and a few pons of growing steers, comprised store cows, values being ou a par with recent sales. The sheep section was strongly competed for, but the agents cannot quote any advance on last week’s rates. The quality was not quite 'up to that of recent yardings, particularly the breeding owes, and if 'anything this class of sheep was slightly easier. Wethers sold well and for good fat and forward sheep there was an advance. Prices were: Forward ewes 23s Sd, m.a. wethers 21s 2d, 2-tooth wethers 31s (id, fat and forward 2-tooth wethers (good) 34s Sd, wether lambs 21s 6d, m.s. lambs 25s Qd, b.f. lambs 19s Gd to i 21s 9d, cull ditto 12s Gd, 5-year ewes to b.f. rams- 29s 2d to 29s Sd, faiilingni'outh ewes to b.f. rams 275; fat ox (light) £9 17s Gd, fat cows £7 to £S, forward cows £4 12s Gd to £5 15s, forward heifers £G 4s, rising 2-year steers j (small) £4 17s, good 2-year st-o'ers £G 4s tio £0 Gs, store cows £2 10s, £3 IQs to | £3 17s, good dry cows £8 to £lO, spring- i ing heifers £5 10s to £G 12s Gd, porkers » 20s to 375, baconers £2 3s- to £2 14 J s, stores 15s to 225, wc'aners Gs to 7s.
