Browne and Kennedy, who were convicted of the murder of Constable Gutteridge, have been executed. Browne, who boasted he would cheat the hangman ate a prodigious breakfast and walked defiantly to the gallows. The two men were executed at different gaols. There were the usual idle crowds outside the prisons. Mrs. Kennedy attended Mass and then waited in a taxi outside Wandsworth gaol but collapsed as 9 o’clock struck.
