BODY FOUND IN A GULLY
IBY 1 BI.EGRAPH—PKEBB ABBOCIITION. J AUCKLAND, May 17. The body of a man, believed to be George Theobald Day, of Taumarunui, was found by some children in Kauri Gully, Northeote, this evening. A service revolver was discovered in the vicinity. The man had been staying at a hotel in the city for about a week.
WOUNDED MAN ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL. BLENHEIM, May 17. Harold Rhine!, a well-known Pieton business man, was admitted to the Picton hospital this morning suffering from a bullet wound in the body. Rhind is understood to have left Oxley’s Hotel, wherevhe was a guest, and gone to his office in High Street this morning between eight and nine o’clock. He was subsequently found in a pool of blood with a. bullet, wound under the heart and a .22 calibre rifle alongside him. He had been suffering from poor health for some time. KILLED IN RAILWAY YARDS. WESTPORT, May 17. William Kilner, a widower, aged 01 years, was killed in the .railway yards at 4.50 this afternoon.
