CYCLISTS SUSPENDED. IBY TBI.EGRAPH PRKSB ASSOCIATION. 1 CHRISTCHURCH, May 17. On charges of foul riding, M illie Mackie and AY. T. Weir, two prominent Canterbury cycling champions, were last evening suspended until the end ol July by the North Canterbury A the tie and Cycling Union. The incidents complained of occurred at Kowai sports on May 5.
SEIZURE OF OPIUM. , WELLINGTON, May IS. ■Customs authorities found about £6O worth of opium secreted in one of the holds of the steamer Pleiodon, which was berthed at the Miramar wharf. The drug was contained in tins 1 wrapped in canvas. The steamer has 39 Chinese among the crew.
