By the caprice of the draw, Glenn a Collett, the American champion, met Mademoiselle Delachaume, holder of the title, in the first round of the women's open golf championship at Hunstanton. It was a ding-dong, hard-fought match. The players were all square ,at the turn. Miss Collett then forged ahead and, won by 3 up and 1 to play. lIAWERA LADIES’ CLUB. The best card for the non-handicap bogey competition played on Tuesday last was handed in by Miss Ruth Pease —6 down. Although only nine competed, there was a decided keenness showfl* and given a. little' help, these juniors should soon earn a handicap. The Silver and Bronze division played the first round of a Yankee competition. Next Tuesday’s competition is a flag match and the draw Js as follows : Mrs. Little v. Mrs. Dickie. Miss Joll v.
