WAVKRLEY V. WAITOTARA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Waverley Football Club received a. visit from Wait-otara players on Saturday afternoon when .a good game was witnessed. The Waverley team were unfortunate in having several of their regular players off the field owing to minor injuries. Glorious weather added to the attraction and a. fair attendance of the public viewed the game. Waverley proved too strong for the visitors liowe v er, winning a good game by 11 points to' 5. Southcombe, Maule and Downes scored for the home team and Morris converted one try, while Yerry scored one try for Waitotara which was converted. Play was fast right through the first half and at the interval the Waverley team were eight points in the lead while the visitors had failed to cross the line. During the second spell Waitotara improved their attack and had the Waverley forwards guessing for a time, the result qr which five points were placed to their account. Towards the end of the game play proved more even, .Waverley attacking strongly when time was called. The game was ably controlled by Mir. B. Symes. mokoiaT tourney. The City teams for the seven-a-side tourney at Mokoia are: A team. —Bryant, Macbeth, Clark, Morrissey, Norris, Carncross, Sutt-on. B team. —Cannon, Foster, Young, Dykes, Fraser, Mclntyre, and Wards.
