(Fmm Ou-r Own Correspondent.) GOOD CATCHES BY FISHERMEN. U Gather c-ondit.oiiki being lavourabie, the fishing boat Raumi-ro, under toe Command ot Captain Kuna, made four clips during the week. The results oi tlio catches were as follow:: —Thursday, t 22 schinipper, 6 kabawai, 2 cod; „ Friday, 25 son napper; Saturday, 38 solm upper, 12 cod. and 4 -shark, the largest measuring hot ween four and five feet; o _aiday, 52 sclinapper. 6 kahawai, and one- hapuka. The Raumi.ro is proving a success in every, way, being perfectly seaworthy. The motor engine, under the supervision of Mi>Jack Raha. is giving every (satisfaction. The boat was .built by her commander, Mr Raha, who is to be congratulated on tlvr success of liis enterprise. The fish -are finding a ready sale at. reaßon-able prices. Mr Matthew Luke, who has the management of the industry on belra’,l of the syndicate .is -sparing no pains to bring it to a successful issue. ROA J> CONSTRUCTION. Mr Roy Hayward is kept, very busy when tides .suit m suppy ling the cruel-.-, no nas in hand for sand, road metal, and bnukloiv,. Ho has at present a large quantity of the boulders at the top o. the lull ready lor crushing for the iiawera County Council, who require a large quaut-i-ty for their roads during the next three months. GENERAL. Mr Noel Sorenson, sou of (Mr A. Sorenson, has purchased an up-to-date eleqtino plant, which he intends to- ,imstul in the residence -of Iris father at the beach—another step in the advancement of the iCh-a-W'3 district. Mr W. Hayward, -serir., secured some ve-y large rhushrooms this week, the largest being GJ- inches in diameter. Tiuee of thiss-e have been sent to the ‘‘Star” office' for exhibition.
