WHAREROA.

(From Our Own Correspondent,) Last Friday evening a successful dance was held in the local hall, organised by Miss Death. There were visitors present from many quarters. Miss Butler provided excellent music. Among the popular novelties arranged were the animal dances, a paper hat dance apd the Monte Carlo waltz. The last named was won by Mrs. Haig and Mb'. Couch. The winners of the euclire were Mrs. Langdon and Mr. T Crooks. The pretty paper hats worn were made by Misses’ Death and Smith. The many friends of Messrs. Maxted and L. Luscpmhe will regret to hear that they are inmates of the Hawera Public Hospital and will wish them a speedy recovery. At the close of the season a large number of local settlers will he moving to other parts.
