RAILWAY BOARD.
THE NEW CHAIRMAN. [BY TELEGRAPH— press association.] HAMILTON, April 27. The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company lias announced that the general manager (Mr. H. H. Sterling) has been released to take the position of chairman of the Railway Board at the request of the Prime Ali tester (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates). Mr. Sterling held important positions in the railway service till January, 1926, when he accepted the managership of the dairy company for seven years. Mr. C. J. Parian© succeeds to the managership of the dairy company. NO APPOINTMENT MADE. WELLINGTON, April 27. The Plon. J. G. Coates says that he has discussed with Air Sterling the question of accepting the chairmanship of the Railway Board, but in no way can it be suggested that Mr Sterling has been appointed. Air Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co., explains that the statement from Auckland regarding Air Sterling having been released from liis contract with" the' company wa.s to. be. regarded as no more than an expression of intention of Iris hoard in the event of Mr .Sterling accepting the chairmanship of the Railway Board
