LONDON, April 11. “A Yorkshire wicket has fallen and one of Yorkshire’s best men is out,” said the rector of Wombwoll in opening his address to the congregation at Roy Kilner ’s funeral. Wombwoll is Kilner’s birthplace. Its total population is 20,000, but 100,000 people attended the funeral. His team colleagues were, the pall-bearers. Lord Hawke, Worsley, the county captain, Toone, one of the leading Lancashire cricketers, Bobby Peel and Hirst were present. Lancashire’s wreath consisted of red and white roses.
