ALLEGED BREAKING AND ENTERING. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, iMarch 31. At the '-Magistrate’s Court to-day, George Tretlhewav, aged 31 years, ancl John Brisbane, aged 36, appeared to answer nine charges of breaking and entering, one charge of attempting to enj:er and break in, one charge of unlawfully converting a car, one- charge of interfering with public telephones, and one charge of .smashing an electric bulb. The minor charges of converting a car, interfering with the telephone and damaging a. bulb were soon disposed of, both prisoners pielading guilty. Sentence was deferred. On all the more serious ten charges the prisoners were remanded till April 3.

DRUNK WHILE IN CHARGE OF MOTOR CYCLE.

YVANGANUI, March 31

A young man named John Philips was fined £ls by Air J. S. Barton, S.AL, this morning for being intoxicated early this morning while in charge of a motor cycle. His license was also cancelled for twelve months.
