RELICS; FOUND IN INDIAN MOUND rt Y CABLE -PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPY HIGH l MANAGUA, March 26. Mr. Carters, the Georgian archaeologist, has discovered what are believed to be relics of the expedition conducted by Fernando De Soto ill 1539. In that year Do Soto, with a strong company, set out from Tampa Bay in search of El Dorado. In 1541 he discovered the great Mississippi and. crossed over to Washita Riiver, but his companions were decimated by 'disease and continual skirmishes with the Indians, and all clues to the source of the treasure proved elusive. Iu 1542 De Soto died of fever and disappointment, the remnant of his expedition eventually reaching Mexico. The relics just discovered were found in an Indian mound. The item of principal interest is an iron sword.
