The new re-designed British silver coinage was circulated to-da v. It contains only half silver, the remainder being alloy. , , , lb was rumoured that the banks may boycott it owing to the difference m its metal value, but it is now learned that there will be no boycott, but there is resentment that the Chancellor of the Exchequer did no consult the banks bafore issuing it.
