ELTHAM OPERATIC SOCIETY.

“LA MASCOTTE” CHOSEN. The executive committee of theEltham Operatic Society met last night, the following being present: Mr. J. O’Hagan (chairman), Mes-d-ames Garden, Carter and Mis® Burrows, Messrs. Crump, Carter, Reynolds, Carson, Smith, Reesley, Nodder, Dr. Saunders, and Mr. Garden (secretary). Messrs. Cardston and Baxter, the producers, were also present. It was decided to produce the opera “La Mascotte” on July 50. A special committee was appointed to make arrangements regarding scenery, dresses, Mrs. S. E. Carson was appointed wardrobe mistress, subject to her acceptance. Mr. A. Beesley (conductor) stated that, as his time was at present taken up with the hand contest music, he could not attend the first few practices. Mr. T. B. Crump was appointed deputy conductor. Maslin. Carman, Stedman, and Messrs. Durie and- Diver were accepted n,s members of the society.
